Code of Ethics for Members of
the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Council
We, the members of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Council, as representatives chosen by the residents, pledge to faithfully perform our duties, enhance their trust, uphold the honor of the Council, and contribute to the development of local autonomy. Accordingly, we hereby declare this Code of Ethics to be observed by all provincial council members.
- First. As representatives of the residents, we cultivate high moral character and sound judgment, and maintain the true honor and dignity befitting provincial council members.
- First. As servants of the community, we give top priority to the public interest and faithfully represent the will of the residents to improve their welfare.
- First. As leaders of provincial administration, we do not exert improper influence in relation to our duties and guide the provincial administration in a fair and proper manner.
- First. As principal agents of legislative affairs, we ensure fair conditions and equal opportunities, thereby fostering a democratic legislative environment.
- First. As those responsible for our local communities, we take full responsibility for all actions performed in the course of legislative activities within our constituencies.
